We are proud to have received a news story from Paul L Lloyd in Zambia. Paul does not only conduct rescues of snakes, but also offers courses. In the process he brings conservation to another level, as youngsters are inspired and feel they can make a true difference.
Real change in attitudes can only happen when we educate and inspire the younger people. We wish Paul and his son all the best and success with their endeavour.
Paul’s message below:
Hi Clem, just though I would send you this:
A rare occurrence; Stephen Katombi. A local 19 year old lad who I trained recently. He catches many snakes for me and when it comes to spotting snakes, chameleons and lizards, he has one of the sharpest eyes I have ever encountered. The locals think he’s a witch because he handles snakes. I have even gone to the trouble of have a letter endorsed by the Chief Warden of the local wildlife office so that he can legally practice his snake rescue and relocation.
Seen here handling a small Gaboon Viper and using both my Venom Defender Gloves and the Collapsible Tong. The youngster has quite a passion for this type of thing.
Kind Regards
Paul L. Lloyd
