James Hennessy on why our gloves are always part of his expedition kit

"So it's been brought to my attention that a time may come when I may not make it back from an expedition, and I might take all the useful information I've gathered over the years, to the grave with me! So before I head away to Guatemala this weekend (after a weekend of Kilkenny Cat Laughs and Foo Fighters..!), I'll post some equipment and why I use it.

Maybe somebody somewhere might find it helpful! I always bring a set of Hex Armour gloves with me. Not for use while hooking or bagging venomous snakes, but for taking morphometric data with smaller specimens and species such as coral snakes. Great for safely getting a tube closer to a snake or calming down a baby Bothrops!"
